Does your dog need some quality playtime? Are they moping around, barking at every passerby, or tearing up the house while you're busy with work, school, or family commitments? The Whispering Wolf has the perfect solution—Pack Play!
In our Pack Play program, dogs are grouped into small packs of 8 to 10, first by size, then by play style and energy level. Throughout the day they socialize, play, and rest with their designated pack under the attentive care of our experienced Pack Leaders and Pack Supervisors.
In addition to a spacious, artificially turfed outdoor play area, we offer three climate-controlled, indoor playrooms—each equipped with agility features, fresh water, pack-appropriate toys, and cozy beds for when it’s time to rest.
Dogs are highly social creatures, thriving on companionship and interaction with both humans and other animals. Descended from pack animals, dogs naturally seek out connection and often form strong bonds with their pack. Their social nature makes them eager to please, quick to learn social cues, and responsive to affection and attention. Whether through playful behavior, vocalizations, or expressive body language, dogs consistently demonstrate a deep need for social engagement with other dogs.
Hello! My name is Jen Wight. My family and I have lived in Arlington for nearly 20 years. I'm a proud mom, a lifelong dog lover, and a dedicated pet owner. Like many, I’ve found that balancing work, family, and pets can be incredibly challenging. After the birth of my third son, I made the decision to leave my role as an Epic Implementation Analyst to focus on my family and to finally pursue my lifelong dream of working with dogs.
I began walking dogs professionally through platforms like WAG and Rover as a way to supplement our income. In the spring of 2020, when the pandemic hit, my dog-walking business naturally evolved into a contact-free, pick-up-and-play service. This allowed clients to get much-needed breaks from their energetic pandemic pups so they could focus on working remotely and/or homeschooling. It met a real need in the community then, and continues to do so today.
Thanks to the incredible support of my family, clients, and the Arlington community, I’m thrilled to announce the opening of a full-scale, commercially licensed doggie daycare—right here in town!
Meet Dragon—our 135 pound Alaskan Malamute and the inspiration behind The Whispering Wolf. He’s a gentle giant who adores people and has a special fondness for anyone carrying food! You can often hear his low, whisper-like howl from our backyard when an ambulance goes by or there are coyote near.
In October 2024, Massachusetts passed Ollie’s Law, a new regulation designed to enhance safety standards in dog care. Under this law, all dog-related businesses—including walkers, sitters, groomers, trainers, and others—must obtain a commercial kennel license if they care for dogs on their property for any consistent period without the owner present. This license must be issued by the local Animal Control Officer (ACO).
What does this mean for Arlington and the surrounding areas? Due to local zoning regulations, home-based dog care is not allowed. Any services such as grooming, boarding, daycare, or on-site training must operate under a valid commercial kennel license and can only be located on a property zoned for business or industrial use.
